- Hear how the SS used the execution complex at Sachsenhausen to perpetrate acts of mass murder, including the killing of 10,000 Soviet POWs in 1941.
- Find out how some Jewish prisoners survived by working in the forgery workshop, counterfeiting millions of pounds sterling
- Your expert guide will tell you about medical experiments, attempted escapes, the “death marches” at the end of the war and the liberation of the camp by the Red Army

Original Berlin Walks’ guides are trained and licensed by the memorial site to unravel the complex history of the Holocaust. Using witness accounts and the latest historical research your Original Berlin Walks guide will uncover what life was like for the prisoners of Sachsenhausen as they underwent forced labour in conditions of appalling brutality.
Meet your guide in the centre of Berlin and travel by train to the town of Oranienburg about 40km north of the city. Trace the very same path that prisoners were forcibly marched to the site by their Nazi guards, and explore the memorial site while your guide will explain to you how various victim groups such as Jewish people, political prisoners, Soviet soldiers and many other groups, were persecuted.
It is estimated that between 1936 and 1945 around 200,000 people were imprisoned at Sachsenhausen, many of whom were ultimately murdered under the National Socialist Regime. On site, you will see amongst other things the Jewish barracks, the shoe-testing track, the camp prison, and the execution centre "Station Z".
Your guide will also tell you how the camp was liberated by Soviet soldiers in 1945, only to be turned into a Soviet internment camp that secretly remained in use up to 1950.
Including travel time to and from Berlin this 6-hour tour aims to give you a greater insight into the tragic history of the Nazi concentration camp, Sachsenhausen.
By booking this tour you support the upkeep, development and historical research undertaken by one of Germany’s most visited concentration camp memorial sites.
